The following trails are located in the Santa Catalina Mountains and are within 16 miles of the Omni Tucson National Resort. These and many other trails are described in detail in Betty Leavengood’s book Tucson Hiking Guide (2004) which can be purchased at Amazon.com. Descriptions of these and other Tucson trails can also be found on the internet. Dogs are not allowed on any of the trails.
Description: A challenging hike through one of the most beautiful canyons in the Santa Catalina Mountains.
Difficulty: Difficult with some areas of steep climbing
Length: 12.8 miles, round trip
Directions to trailhead from the Omni: (Distance is approximately 16 miles)
Description: A steep climb through a very beautiful canyon with many spectacular views.
Difficulty: Difficult, steep, and continues to climb after 1 mile.
Length: 10 miles, round-trip
Directions to trailhead from the Omni: (Distance is approximately 10 miles)
Description: A short hike to the top of a ridge in the Front Range of the Santa Catalina Mountains
Difficulty: Moderate, short areas of steep climbing
Length: 5.2 miles, round trip
Directions to trailhead from the Omni: (Distance is approximately 10 miles)
Use the same directions as the Finger Rock Trail above.
The trailhead is located at the same parking lot.
Description: A long hike through a beautiful canyon into one of the most rugged areas of the Santa Catalina Mountains. One of the more popular trails because it is easily accessible.
Difficulty: Difficult, easy for first 3.2 miles.
Length: 14.2 miles, round trip
Directions to the trailhead from the Omni: (Distance is approximately 6.0 miles)
Description: A hike to a canyon with deep year round pools of water.
Difficulty: Moderate, some areas of steep climbing
Length: 5.6 miles. Round trip
